ARIFA and the Tunisian Association of Renewable Energies (ATER) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in Artificial Intelligence, renewable energy innovation, and sustainable development across Africa. The partnership marks a strategic step toward integrating AI and data-driven technologies into the design, management, and optimization of renewable energy systems. The collaboration was spearheaded by Eng. Dr. Dennis Mwighusa, Executive Director of ARIFA, and Prof. Olfa Bel Hadj Brahim Kechiche, President of the Tunisian Association of Renewable Energies (ATER). The partnership combines ARIFA’s expertise in AI research, innovation, and policy with ATER’s leadership in renewable energy development and sustainability initiatives. Key areas of collaboration include AI and data science applications for renewable energy optimization, joint research and innovation in smart energy systems, capacity building for African talent, policy and governance for AI in energy, and strengthening Pan-African and international cooperation. The initiative aims to advance intelligent, sustainable, and collaborative energy solutions for Africa’s future.
