ARIFA delivered a high-impact lecture at the Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) focusing on “The Use and Role of AI in Academic Research: How AI is Revolutionising Research in 2026 – From Discovery to Publication.” The session brought together academicians, researchers, and students to explore the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence across the entire research lifecycle. The lecture was delivered by Eng. Dr. Dennis Mwighusa, Executive Director of ARIFA, who highlighted how AI is enhancing literature reviews, semantic search, data analysis, academic writing, citation management, and journal publication processes. The session also emphasized responsible and ethical AI use in academia, management of hallucinations and misinformation risks, and the importance of AI-driven research productivity and global competitiveness. Participants gained practical insights into the application of AI tools for research discovery, synthesis, analysis, writing, and publication, while also exploring strategies for strengthening Tanzania’s academic and research ecosystem in the AI era.
